Just a short post this week due to certain issues, and to show that I haven’t vanished off the face of the Earth.
With the Find Creativity project smoothly underway, it became apparent that it was getting a bigger and bigger project as my planning and research continued. Because of this, I decded to use a PHP framework to help aid the development of this project. I have had some experience of CakePHP, but I didn’t find it to be overly helpful – maybe I just had issues with the documentation. I decided this time to use CodeIgniter, as recommended by a friend.
I got CI up and running within minutes (having already set up my own development environment many months ago). As it stands at the moment, most of the tables are implemented (bar a few alterations to the structure of the users table) and the homepage data is pulled out of the database.
An April 1st deadline is going to be pushed back until May 15th – as this will give me the right amount of time to develop this thing properly.
